Finally My Schooling Pays Off...

One of the problems I have been having with my job is that I didn't go to school to answer phones. I went to school to be a preschool teacher. I love kids and it's so much fun.

That's one preface.

Secondly, Daniel has a wide variety of vitamins he tries to take every day. But something that totally drives me nuts is that he leaves the bottles out (and sometimes opened) all over the counter. Mostly I just put them away, but I kind of got sick of it. So one day while putting them away I sung:
This is the way we put away our pills
Put away our pills,
Put away our pills.
This is the way we put away our pills
Every single morning.
(Sung to the tune of Here We Go 'Round the Mulberry Bush)
That's all. Just sung that song and smiled at him.
This morning I was getting ready for work and I heard some thing. So I snuck into the room next to our kitchen (where Daniel was) and I heard him singing, "This is the way we put away pills"... and so on. He then continued to sing the song in every key, like you would do in choir.
He didn't know I was listening and I thought it was adorable. And sure enough, the pills were put away! He later told me that it was, indeed easier to put the pills away while singing. Haha!
It's just so good to know that 4 years of school has finally paid off! And my student? My dear sweet husband :-)

You know your pregnant when....

You cry on the Bachelor because Ali has to choose between her job and Jake. And then you cry some more when she chooses to leave. Bring on the tears

A Brothers Request...

I have to admit that sometimes I forget I am pregnant. I just think and feel like I am getting fat. Then when I get kicked or I can't squeeze through that tight spot anymore I look down and am brought back to reality quickly.

So when I got this text from my bother yesterday: "Hey send me a picture of how fat you are!", It took me a second for me to get my feelings unhurt and remember that he hasn't seen me in a while and I am indeed getting 'rather large' (name that movie).

I haven't allowed many pictures to be taken of me because in all honesty I just want to cry, but I have been reassured by friends that it is all for a good cause and it will all change as soon as he is born. WHEW!

Although today Daniel did make the comment - 'hey remember when your hot shoes used to fit?'. He was trying to be funny. But really? Why didn't he just say 'hey, remember when you were skinny!' We had a nice giggle in church.

With that said- I am now 6 months along! And it is going by fast! I am LOVING the 2nd trimester. All nasuea is gone! YAHOO! I am still pretty tired but nothing compared to the first few weeks. I did have to get new shoes though, my feetsies and ankles are swollen to the size of small hams :-( I got little porky feet. Oh well, I hear thats just the way it is.
We still haven't come up with any solid names. We'll probably keep that quiet until he comes anyway. He's still a growin though- according to the internet he's the size of a mango. He feels much larger when he is awake though. I tell ya what- he's a kicker.

In other news... I hope its ok to anounce this, but Daniel and I are in the process of buying a house! Crazy huh?! But we are so excited! It was priced to sell so we didn't think we would get it but after waiting for about 3 weeks and me changing out bid while Daniel was in Guatemala we succeeded. We are hoping to close Feb 25 and move in after that! This puts a tiny squeeze on our current apt though. We are trying to find renters to take up the lease until Aug, but that is proving difficult. If we have to simply break our lease it will be the most expensive part of the whole process. Sad! However, I think it will be worth it because I am so excited and I love the house so much. I hope it is everything we want and more. Here are pictures:

Gosh Dangit- Going Private

So we had an incident... My wonderful sister-in-laws crazy ex-husband has taken a liking to stalking his ex-families blogs and well I'm just not ok with that. I've never even met the man but he totally gives me the willies. Honestly don't even know if he looks on this but I'm not taking the chance!

S O . . .

We are going to go private. Please leave your email address if you would like to be included! I really don't mind anyone reading, just not creepies - especially when baby is coming :-)

So I got this new book...

I got a book at the library the other day and it is hilarious! SO funny. Daniel doesn't think it is one bit, but really its comical. It's called "Everything I Know About Men I Learned from my Dog" by Clare Staples.
Allow me to read an excerpt from my new found wisdom concerning men:

"Play Time"
"Dogs need to play and occasionally they will get caught up in a really fun game. Your dog might have found some others to play with, a squirrel to chase or just a really good smell that needs further investigation. During these periods, regardless of the fact that he loves you completely, he will forget about you. He will hear the sound of your voice calling him but it will just seem unimportant, annoying even. When he finally comes back to you, the worst thing you can do it be angry. He is back, so greet him with enthusiasm and a big pat and remind him how good it is to be with you." -p. 85

"Let Him Be"
" If you chase a dog, it will run away. This is always true, no matter what. The more you chase, the more he will run. There is just something in his nature that makes him do this, no matter how much he loves you and how much he loves being with you. A dog instinctively becomes nervous when stalked and chased. However, turn your back on him and walk away quickly and he will come running after you, determined to catch up with you and be by your side" -p.83

Now, I don't know about you- but this is SO true in our relationship, the last one especially when we were dating!!! And I just think it's so funny. There are tons more- but out of respect for Daniel I try and limit my reading cuz I just end up laughing too hard and he doesn't think it's that funny.

We Have GREAT News!

Yesterday Daniel and I had our 5 month ultra sound on our baby. And we found out that we are having a BOY!!!I am sure that this happens with everyone, so bare with me as I am a first timer:-) It was the coolest experience EVER! The lady showed us everything about our child and it was SO neat to see his little bones, and heart and head and brain. It was just amazing! I was in awe and shock mostly because I had no idea what to expect and Daniel had to sit down a time or two to catch his breath. Daniel thought it was a girl. I was hoping for a boy so I had no idea what it was because I had my bias get in the way. But alas, a boy we have!

According to the ultra sound lady he was a wiggler. That kid was all over the place. Again, I have nothing to compare him too, but I was amazed at how much he moved and how little I felt. I thought he moved a lot, but thats only what I can feel. He was all over the place in there. Poor kid has no room and it's only going to get worse.

Then here comes the other news... it's not bad! Well, at least not for anyone but me... He is in the 93rd percentile for size! HE IS LARGER THAN 93% OF ALL THE OTHER BABIES HIS SIZE!!! Some of his measurements were as much as 2 weeks a head of schedule! Now that is ALL his daddy. Daniel was 10lbs when he was born and apparently he was a wiggler as well. So this is all Jacobs baby. Oy! I'm a little worried- not going to lie. Ya never know- he might level out, but what if he doesn't? What if he just keeps growing and growing?! I'll never be the same!!!

Whew... its intense and crazy but we are so excited. Now, let the shopping begin! First grandson on my side and the 6th out of 16 on Daniels side so we're a little scarce on the males. Makes it even more fun!

Well, I guess it's my turn

I suppose it's about that time to announce that Daniel and I are pregnant! Most every one knows, but there is something official about posting it. At first I needed a lot of convincing because I simply couldn't believe it. But we are so excited!
Basic Information:
  • 18 weeks along
  • Due 2 June 2010
  • We will find out the gender in 2 weeks
  • I've gained about a million pounds
  • I haven't been too sick. I get afternoon sickness. Thankfully I haven't thrown up much
  • The worst part (besides gaining a million pounds) is terribly sensitive skin. Any contact with things will make my skin turn bight red and it raises like hives. The redness lasts for a long long time. I take Zyrtek religiously. Before I found this miracle drug I got unbearably itchy. The bottoms of my feet, palms of my hands and even my gums get SUPER itchy when I don't take my medicine. But I'd take itchiness over nausea ANY day!
  • We have been discussing names of both genders. We'll get more serious when we know what we are having and when it comes.
  • I feel the baby - well what I think is a lot, especially when I eat
  • No unusual or specific cravings. Bacon, sausage, cheese and Mexican food are always a hit. Sadly I can't eat my most favorite food in the world, hamburgers. Yuck!
I think that's about it
Here I am at 4 months (I'm in all black because we were celebrating my boss's 50 birthday at work. Hehe, I thought it was funny)

In other news this month- Daniel and I shared our 2nd anniversary a few weeks ago. We had a fantastic time! For starters we had dinner at our favorite sushi/french restaurant. Then we headed to old town Parker and got hot chocolate and strolled around looking at the beautiful lights and Christmas decorations. We love Parker! It's so beautifully decorated and we had a great time.
With the snowmen

Us in the gazebo. You can't tell but it was decorated in thousands of lights and bows and garland

Christmas this year was spent in Utah with Daniels' family. So we had Christmas early in our house. I know it looks like this picture was taken on Christmas morning, but in reality it was taken at night right before we opened presents :-) We had a great holiday.
