It's been a long time. Sorry. Lets being our story!
Whew! It's been a whirlwind of events this past month. Life is just nuts and I have a feeling like it is never going to be calm:-) Ok, in a nutshell, this is what has been going on the past month:
As you know Daniel is going to medical school in Colorado in the fall (well really it starts in the summer but ya know). So, right after a grueling finals week I flew out to CO for a few job interviews at preschools in the area. I found a place and they wanted me to start a week after I interviewed. AAAHH! So I flew home and started packing up as much of our house as I could. This was a whole month before we planned on moving. It was rough saying goodbye. I really didn't like it. I was going to take our car with as much stuff in it as I could and then Daniel was going to finish packing/cleaning up the house and come up as soon as he could.
The night before I was supposed to leave my niece decided that she wanted to see me before I left even though she wasn't due for another week. Afton and Matson welcomed their little girl Friday May 8 at 3:00pm! Taylee Tolman (sorry Nec, I don't know how to spell her middle name so that's all she gets) is here!

Here are Bree and Taylee. So cute! Bree is 9 months older than Taylee. They both look so happy don't they? Spitting images of their fathers!
Anyway- so I stayed an extra day to be with the baby. Then I hit the road. Again the goodbye was a little rough, but my sister-in-law Amy gave me encouraging words saying that I wouldn't make any friends and so I should just stay in Utah. Thanks Amy! Couldn't a done it without ya!
To make a long story short, I hated hated my job. It wasn't a preschool, like I thought it was. It was a daycare and I didn't spend thousands of dollars and tons of time so I could change diapers and talk to myself. It was awful. I felt so bad for the kids. They hated being there and it was so sad. I was 'teaching' the 12m to 18m kids. I'm just not down with being a babysitter right out of college. SO 4 days after starting I talked with my boss and quietly bowed out.
The last day of my job I came home so so sick. I couldn't move and I was in pain. I ended up in the hospital totally dehydrated. They tested me for swine flu or any flu for that matter. I got a spinal tap to see if I had spinal meningitis... Nothing. They don't know what I had, but while in the hospital I got pneumonia. I was there for 3 days not really knowing what was going on. My heart rate was between 130 and 150 bpm and as far as I knew that is why I had to stay in so long. All of this is being done with out Daniel. Poor guy was slaving away at our house trying to get out. He worked so so hard. Thank you SO much to everyone who helped him: Melinda, Joseph, Matson, Mom and Ben- and everyone. Thank you thank you! My mom brought the truck when she came to be with Afton and Taylee so Daniel packed up everything else we owned in the truck! Quite a feat. He is the best packer I have ever seen.
A week later we were on an airplane to Duck, North Carolina for a family reunion with Daniel's family! Oh my gosh we had so much fun. We went to the beach, laid around the pool all day, watched movies and TV, played games, ate lots of food, slept and just had fun being with the family and with ourselves. I fell in love with the east coast! I had never really been there. The other half of Daniel's family lives in Virginia so we stayed with them and toured Washington DC. I just loved it. Plus it was fun to hang out with the Jacobs' we never get to see.
Daniel's brother and sister-in-law bought a new house that they are gutting so Daniel put me on a plane and went to help his brother work on the house, while I came back to Colorado to look for a job.
And that's where we are right now! We are homeless and jobless! It's so AWESOME...! But a glimmer of hope, I may have found a job today so cross your fingers everyone! We found a town house that we LOVE but you know how it goes, nothing is perfect. So we are just waiting for a house to come along and then we can get our life started in the great state of Colorado.
Daniel was commissioned as an officer in the Air Force in May and DOESN'T HAVE TO GO TO BASIC TRAINING! I am SO happy because he would have had to be gone the entire month of July and I have seen him about a week out of this entire summer already so I was so sad. But they said he didn't have to go! Now we can look forward to Taylee's blessing, the 4th of July, HARRY POTTER 6th movie coming out July 15 and the 24th of July in Manassa.
So I'll try to keep you updated more frequently. But that's us in a nutshell. I'll also try and get pictures. Our camera broke so we have to bum off Andrew (hint hint). But that's all folks!
