Alex's First Easter

"Bunny Day" (Saturday) was dark and wet and cold. But it's possible to have a BLAST even though the weather isn't ideal. And a BLAST was had! Tammy, John, Tanner, Addi, Kayleigh and Anton came over for a fabulous easter egg hunt that Tammy put together. It was so much fun to watch Tanner gather up his loot! He was all alone with 6 cheering adults. Alex was set loose for a few minutes.
Initial taste test...
Not too interested in the eggs
Playin with daddy
It was chilly!
But in the end- the rocks were FAR more interesting than the eggs
Obviously you can't dye eggs with your shirt on.
Just practicing for his birthday... I am so lame- I know

So Many New Tricks

I am constantly under the assumption that everyone is just as in love with and consumed with Alex as I am. I recently realize that that might not be the case. However, Daniel and I are FAR less interesting subjects. We should just rename this the "I Think Alex is Adorable" blog. And here is his latest trick

Picture OVERLOAD + Spring Break

Spring Break. A joyous event. A MUCH needed pause in an otherwise hectic and busy life. No school. No studying. Just . . . breathing. And it is something that we will never be given again. From now on, for the rest of our lives Christmas, Thanksgiving and Spring Break will all have to be scheduled around Daniel's crazy schedule. So you can imagine how important it was to make the best of it. And make the best of it we did! It was a jam packed week of excitement and adventure and we loved every single minute of it!!

Daniel had a test on Friday and the minute it was over we were off. First stop: the zoo. Alex loves animals so we got a season pass to the zoo! It was cold and Alex hadn't been sleeping so well so the first time was really a trial run :-)
Here we are visiting some African cow type animal thing
And the Cheetah
This bear was SO funny! He was actually performing for us. He was sitting on the edge of his habitat and would smile and stand up. He was AWESOME and so funny!
I've never seen a bear on his hind legs before!
Here he is, smiling!

Next on our week of adventures we went with our awesome friends John and Tammy and Tanner and Addi to their home of St. George! We borrowed my parents mini van and strapped the kids in and were on our way!
I was so worried about Alex in the car for 10 hours! We went to Leadville a few months back, about a 2 hour drive, and he hated it and his car seat for weeks after. The best way to describe my feeling on the situation? Terrified! But he's gunna have to do it sooner or later. We can't just not go anywhere, right? I was pleasantly surprised that he did AWESOME! We had a few freak outs, but who cares- right? No biggie.

So here's our trip! I'll try not to get too detail seein how there's like a billion pictures.
We Finally made it! Alex was so happy (I have no idea why this is underlined... I didn't even know you could do that in blogger...???)
Sunday we stopped by the St. George Temple and just hung out and walked around
Here's the Fam!
Alex loved the big building
Alex's buddy Tanner on the steps
Havin a good time on the lawn
Tanner is such a good sharer

Alex's first time swimming! I don't know who was more excited us or him
1st time he was just takin it all in
But he could spare a smile or two for his mama
Love my little man

Kisses from dad
I love this picture
2nd time swimming at the library - they had rock fixtures and a little river thing that was so adorable and so fun
But I did catch a few good times
Shades, pacifier and mom- what more could a kid ask for?
3rd time swimming was a HUGE success! He loved his little floatie (Thanks Jeff!)
Now, Alex has always been more of a lover of pretty girls than the males. But Tammy, Tammy is a different story. He prefers Tammy to anyone else and flirts like a pro! So of course we have the pictures with his favorite gal Tammy.
Look at that smile. Not many can pull a smile like that out of him
Yum! Gum!
Looking for the gum

:-)
Tanner being taught how to go under water
Pretty good for the first try!!!

Story: all of Tammy's sisters came to see her while she was home. One of which was her sister nicknamed Puff. John, Daniel, Tammy and I were in the car talking to Puff and another sister who were standing outside. When the conversation was done we started to drive away. Alex burst into tears. Just sobbed. We stopped and summoned Puff who ran and got in next to him the crying stopped and tears dried up :-) He loves Puff AND Tammy! Pretty soon he's gunna leave us for them!
He loves Cheetos
We went to ZIONS National park! Love his faces
The whole famdamily

Just Us
Alex loves sand. Sand and water :-)
While we were there he solidified his 'bye, bye', 'yeah', and 'SO BIG'. Here he is displaying so big!
