Spinning with Uncle Mark

I am a horrible mother. If it helps, he loved it!

Mississippi

Alex loved the ocean! And we got to see dolphins

Uncle Brett came to see us on the dolphin boat!

Our family- together at last

There was a huge shark head we went to see. Alex was playing with the teeth and said, "Look mom, just like tigers teeth"

And here is the best, cutest travel buddy a girl could ever ask for. He did awesome. We really liked Mississippi and think we'll be there soon.

Goodbye Summer :-(

Our last summer in Colorado is quietly coming to a close. It was a CRAZY one- but we had fun none the less. Here are some of our last adventures
Glow Stick lanterns - I love pinterest
Bowling with daddy

Alex made a new friend at the 'best park' ever. She was his wing man and now she is requested at every park excursion
Climbing with dad at the 'best park' ever
Daddy left for Mississippi to go be a surgeon for a month- Alex fell asleep on the way to the airport. So this was their last goodbye :-(

Day 1 of daddy being gone.... His diaper got caught on Daniels car! Hehehe- he's crying and I run back inside to grab my camera. I'm such a horrible mother

We Tried it & We Liked it!

CAMPING!
Happy 28th Birthday to my wonderful husband! We celebrated a little early with his week off by going camping. It was the first time with Alex so I had no idea what to expect. He had a BLAST!! We all did! It was just beautiful and we had a great time!

Daniel's Birthday Cake :-)

Just some incredible scenery of the wonderful state of Colorado

Our campsite... Yes that is a road a hop skip and a jump away. We needed the biggest site they had because we had a party up there. And yes, that road led to our early departure. But we pretended we were in the wilderness

This little boy was SO excited to be camping. He was in constant motion the entire time

I don't know if you can see it or not, but Daniel got a little too close to the fire! He burnt his eyelashes and eyebrows whilst attempting to make said fire larger...

Apparently Uncle Johns car is still more entertaining than a camp fire and marshmallows

Ready for bed! Again, he was so excited to sleep in the tent

He woke up at the crack of dawn (thank you road) but still oh so very happy

Helping dad start the fire
I had to entertain him so he wouldn't 'help' daddy too much :-)
I would also like to point out that the beanie Al is wearing was actually meant for Daniel. It fit Alex almost perfectly... haha! We got the big head Jacobs gene in this one
Feeding Uncle John his breakfast of course
The top of Mt. Evans one of the 52 mountains in Colorado that is over 14k feet tall. Daniel almost died because he decided to sprint to the very tip top. Silly mom forgot all of our jackets and we almost died on the road up because it was narrow and bumpy and just plain scary! BUT- we did it and we loved it.

On the way down Mt. Evans we stopped at this gorgeous mountain lake.

So glad I don't have to worry about Alex making pictures turn out weird. I know what face he's gunna pull every single time

Remember the early waking up? We left to go home at 4:00ish he fell asleep at 4:01ish!

Happy Birthday my sweet love! Hope it was a good one. Can't wait to be there for the next 28 birthdays!

Our New Addition!

Someone in my ward was giving away this beauty so I snatched it! I am SO excited to fix it up and be able to play again. It's been a while! I like these kinds of additions- my body doesn't try to kill objects :-)

Around the House

With Daniel off for a few weeks we spent some of the time diving into the home improvement phase. For some reason the builder put carpet in all of our bathrooms. Its horrible. So Daniel, all by himself, tiled the upstairs bathrooms! Such a stud. Here is what they look like now...
I just realized that this shows none of the tile and all of the stickers I had fun sticking on...  oops
Heres a peak at our bathroom now. TILE! Love it! Daniel did such a good job!
Our Garden! We planted again this year and its awesome. There is just something so satisfying about going out to your garden and picking the strawberries or tomatoes or carrots or onions. The later two we didn't even plant! They just came back!
Our out of control tomato plant. This is after he got a little hair cut. LOVE garden tomatoes!
Our strawberries needed to be trimmed as well. They grow like weeds!
I think I have had a total of one strawberry from over a dozen picked. Why? They are Alex's most favorite and he snatches them up every time we pick them!

One haul of tomatoes. I think I am going to have to learn how to can this year! We can't eat all of these.
