Alex has a new obsession. You guess it, trucks. Anything and everything that has to do with trucks must be thoroughly examined. This obsession was caused by spring coming a little early this year and a construction site within walking distance of our house. We get to go right up to the trucks and watch them work. Its really cool! Sometimes when Alex is ready to leave the adult with him tries to encourage him to stay because its really amazing to watch. Any who, ever since that discovery it has been non stop trucks. He flawlessly identifies: dump trucks, buses, fire trucks, ambulances, helicopters, excavators, front loaders, bulldozers, cement trucks, BIG trucks (basically any truck), Jeeps, Audis (thank you uncle Matt), garbage trucks, trailers (specifically Grandpas trailer), motorcycles and four wheelers. Here is a brief look into the day and the life of a truck lovers life!
A glimpse of the trucks we visit every single day.

Story time: There have been a lot of changes happening in our house as of late. One of them being Daniel and I finally graduating into a decent king sized bed! Can I get a WOOT WOOT!? Best day ever. But what to do with our old, perfectly fine queen bed? We finally decided on copying my sister. Afton had put a large bed in her daughters room and uses it as a guest room as well. Brilliant, I thought. Alex didn't need his crib anymore and we needed to use it, obviously.
So we did a little switcher-roo! We thought the transition for Alex would be slow because for most every change in his life it takes him just a little time to adjust. So we left the crib in his room so he could just get used to this new bed. Boy were we wrong! To say that he was excited doesn't properly describe his elation. He was beyond pleased that he got his very own bed. "Ali's bed" is what he calls it. He couldn't wait to go to sleep in his new bed! The first few nights were flawless. He didn't get out or fall or anything. Nap and bed times went just as they always do.
"Wow," we thought "dodged that bullet"... until one night he fell out. This bed is super low to the ground so it wasn't a big deal. Except for the tiny fact that Alex has an extreme fear of falling. I don't know where it comes from, but if I don't want him to do something I'll tell him he'll fall if he does (which is the truth 99% of the time) and he abandons the plan immediately. So the rest of that night he came into our room and wouldn't go back to sleep. We threw him in the crib and wondered how we'd get him back in that bed again.
This is becoming a very long story and it's not even that good. The next day it was obvious that he was scared of his new bed. I had to run a few errands and every time we got back in the car he would say "no home. no home. no home"(cuz he knew going home meant his nap time). Our last stop was to get sheets for our new bed. Then the light bulb went on. I went to the kids section and low and behold there were truck sheets!! BINGO! I worried because they were full sheets instead of Queen (for some reason they don't make queen sized kid sheets :-)). Bought 'em anyway. When we got home, once again the elation knew no bounds! The sheets don't fit. But they work. I couldn't take them back! He was literally rolling around in them with excitment. So I just made them work. And once again - we are back on track to a flawless transition from crib to bed. Truck sheets = Best. Idea. Ever!!!

| Here they are! What you get to sleep in if you ever come visit :-) J/K- I do have other sheets. We do take requests though. |
| There is absolutely nothing on the planet he would rather be doing than being on a four-wheeler with "Papa" with a truck blanket and his pacifier! Thanks for taking us papa! |
